Dear Clergy Spouses,

Greetings, joy and peace to each of you.  The Northwest District of the UMC would like to invite you to a seminar especially for Clergy Spouses conducted by authors Teresa Flint-Borden and Barbara Cooper (Breaking the Sound Barrier - Women Married to Men in Ministry - published late 2007).  Both Teresa and Barbara are terrific speakers and presenters as well as clergy spouses themselves.  We will focus on the uniqueness of being clergy spouses, male and female, the rewards and the problems encountered by each of us in that position and ways in which we can deal with, and react to various circumstances.  Retirees, especially, we need your wisdom, input, and experiences.

This day will also be a relaxing and fun day as we intersperse a "Spa Day" with our seminars including hand, foot, and neck massages.  In addition, we will have a time to connect to our fellow spouses, either renewing old friendships, or making new ones.  New Blessings await!! Be Ready!!!!

The seminar will be offered at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Decatur, Alabama, April 5, 2008.  We are enclosing a brochure of the event for your information and registration.  We encourage each of you to make a special effort to attend this event just for spouses.  The fee for the seminar will cover the cost of lunch as well as a copy of the book by the speakers.  For those needing a nursery, one will be offered at no cost.  Scholarships are available, if needed, by contacting the District Office.  

If you want to travel to Decatur the Friday night before, information on motels is included in the brochure.
